Politicians and Celebrities

There are two things I despise the most in this world are celebrities whom endorse politicians and the other is idealist. Lets start with celebrities endorsing politicians. On the Friday Larry King had the guy from the Black Eye Peas, John Legend, and the chick from Ugly Betty on discussing their presidential favorites. The Black Eye Pea guy and John Legend supported Barack and the Ugly Betty chick supported Hilary. There is a reason why these people are entertaining the masses and not ruling them. The Black Eye Pea was a total joke. He didn’t give a policy reason for voting for his candidate. All he could muster was that his candidate was for change. Gee thanks Mr. Black Eye Pea I was on the fence regarding Barack but now that you gave a well thought out response I’m definitely voting for your candidate. I have one plea for the future politicians of the world before you accept an endorsement from a celebrity make sure they know your policies and not your empty rhetoric. As for celebrities please shut the fuck up and entertain me and stay away from politics.

On to the idealists poor saps think they can change the world through ideas. You know there was a time when these people with grand ideas were going to change world. It was in the sixties and it was the hippie revolution. These young people were going to transform the United States. They were going to bring peace and love to the masses. All they needed was a six string and LSD. People would come together for the greater good and a utopian society would be created. Unfortunately, they fell flat on their face and became yuppies. I do have to give them credit they did get civil rights laws passed and gave women a greater standing in society. But they also became power hungry individuals. So much for ideas and change.

Here are some lyrics I’m working on. I only have one verse. I’m having a hard time with the chorus. It’s one of those songs that take forever to write. It’s based on conflicting worldviews between couples.

I’m a realist she’s an idealist
She likes Rousseau I prefer Machiavelli
She sees the good of all man
I see man as corrupted
She sees the world in shades of gray
I see the world in black and white
We always fight over whose right
But when she lays beside me
Ideologies
Get swept under the bed

Later
